My current research interests are as follows:

Reflected-light image analysis of conifer tree rings, which has two particular research needs:
Changing optical configurations with changes in magnification
Extraneous color variation in conifer wood, especially heartwood discoloration
Geomorphological applications of dendrochronology
Relationships between tree growth and soil nutrient availability
Active teaching/learning at the college level
